How We Work

The obsessive
process.

Every floor we install follows the same sequence. The prep work nobody sees is the reason our coatings stay down while others fail.

01
Before Anything

Site assessment
and consultation.

We walk the space before we quote it. We check for visible cracks, moisture staining, previous coatings, drainage, substrate type, and environment conditions. We ask about foot traffic, chemical exposure, forklift use, aesthetics, and timeline. The quote comes from the actual site — not from an area measurement alone.

For most projects, we can provide a firm quote same day. For larger or more complex jobs, we deliver a full written proposal within 48 hours.

Before We Pour Anything

Moisture vapor
testing. Always.

Moisture vapor emission is the single most common cause of floor coating failure. We test every job before any coating is selected. We use calcium chloride testing (ASTM F1869) and relative humidity probes (ASTM F2170) — whichever the manufacturer spec requires. Results are documented in writing and included with your project file.

If MVER exceeds the coating threshold, we install a moisture vapor barrier before proceeding. We will not coat a slab that will fail — it costs us more to redo a job than to do it right the first time.

The Foundation

Surface prep to
ICRI profile.

The coating is only as good as what it bonds to. We diamond grind or shot blast the concrete to an ICRI surface profile — the mechanical tooth that lets epoxy truly bond to the substrate. We repair cracks with polyurea or epoxy injection, fill bug holes and spalls, and address any surface defects before any coating material is applied.

This is the step most installers rush or skip. It's the step that determines whether a coating lasts five months or fifteen years.

04
System Application

Primer, body coat,
and broadcast.

The coating system is applied in sequence — penetrating primer first for adhesion, then the body coat, then (for flake systems) a full broadcast of vinyl chip to rejection. Each layer is allowed to cure to the manufacturer's specification before the next goes down. Temperature and humidity are monitored throughout — epoxy won't cure properly outside of specification ranges.

We mix by weight, not by eye. Incorrect ratios produce soft, tacky coatings that fail prematurely — and the problem often doesn't show up for months.

05
The Topcoat

Polyurea seal.
Double coat.

Every floor we install gets a double coat of polyurea or polyaspartic topcoat. UV-stable so it won't yellow. Slip-resistant aggregate standard in every topcoat. The polyurea sealer is what gives the floor its scratch resistance, chemical resistance, and longevity — it's what separates a floor that looks good on day one from one that still looks good in year ten.

Final Steps

Cleanup, walkthrough,
and handoff.

We clean the job site before we leave. No coating overspray on walls, no dust in corners, no tape residue. We do a final walkthrough with you — you walk the floor, we answer questions, and we go over care and maintenance so you know exactly how to keep it looking new.

Your job file — moisture test results, product data sheets, installation notes, and warranty documentation — is provided at handoff.

After the Job

Warranty.
Backed up.

Every floor we install carries a workmanship warranty. If the coating fails due to anything we did — application error, product defect, adhesion failure — we come back and fix it. No arguments, no inspectors, no "that's a substrate issue." We stand behind what we install.

Warranty terms vary by project type. Ask for the specific coverage at time of quote — it's in writing before any work begins.

Typical Timeline

Most floors take
one to three days.

Timeline depends on square footage, system complexity, and cure time between coats. We tell you exactly when you can walk on it and when you can drive on it before the project starts.
